Break

I try to write about three times per week. Most of it is pretty good and will probably help you grow your business. If it doesn't, then I probably can't help you.

You can use a traditional RSS Feedreader with this fancy-dancy link. I think this approach is harder but if you want to do it the hard way, who am I to say otherwise?

A Break is a Good Thing

I have always valued hard work. Of course, when I was living with my parents as a teenager, they would never have known it. Since I realized I was responsible for my own destiny, I found that I enjoy working hard.

I also enjoy not working hard.

Balance can sometimes be a hard thing to achieve with work. In fact, sometimes I wonder if my wife will ever figure out how my on/off switch works.

I’m not opposed to working late to get something done but I’m also not opposed to taking a long, Sunday afternoon nap or just turn everything off when I get home and watch some TV or read a good book.

Last year when I started writing on this blog again, I made the commitment to write three times per week. I did that pretty faithfully for the better part of six months.

Then the holidays hit. Then we had the busiest December on record and in the midst of trying to prepare myself and my business for the new fiscal year, I became responsible for a large project that normally I would have someone else in my office take care of.

Now, four months later, I feel compelled to make the time to write again.

While I’ve been legitimately busy I probably could have found time to write. In fact, I’m sure that I could have found time to write.

I realized, however, that taking a break from a fast pace can be a very good thing. Taking the time to focus on other things for the last four months has been a very good thing for me.

Now, I feel like my life is back in balance so it’s time to start writing again.

I may not keep it up three times per week as I did before but I will write more often. In fact, I'm sure that I won't keep it to three times per week with all the new things going on in my professional and personal life. I don’t care if anyone ends up reading any of this. It’s for me and not for them. But, a break was a good thing and now I’m ready to be done with my break.
